Inkjet paper Instructions
Always use Bel Papers

How To Apply Inkjet waterslide decal paper

  • Step #1: Design your decals using any graphic software program. (Use 8 1/2 " x 11" sheet BEL INK JET Decal Paper or cut sheet into half if desired.)

  • Step #2: Set your printer as follows:

    • Resolution = Best
    • Paper = Photo Gloss
    • (Print your decal on the glossy side of BEL INK JET Decal Paper.)

  • Step #3: Spray your printed sheet evenly with Krylon Acrylic Crystal Clear High Gloss spray until the sheet has a shine (2-3 coats). Allow 30 to 60 minutes to dry and set. (This product is available at any craft or hardware store such as Loews, Home Depot, Ace Hardware, Walmart, etc. Any acrylic clear coat spray will work.)

  • Step #4: Cut out your image using a standard pair of sharp household scissors.

  • Step #5: Place decal into a cup of clean water for 45-60 seconds and remove when the thin decal film begins to slip along backing. (Discard backing material after the decal has been removed)

  • Step #6: Apply decal to clean surface; ceramic, glass, metal, plastic, soap, candles, mylar balloons, model trains, planes, cars, etc.

Great idea. September 9, 2015

Printing is great. The issue/s I had came from the instructions which say to place in water for "45-60 seconds." The first one I put in almost immediately separated from the backing and I am stupidly counting to 45 seconds as the decal itself is floating around. I adapted the time and the average was about 10 seconds or less.

The other issue was more my fault. I traced everything out, cut it to fit but did not grasp that once the decal is loose there is no real way to "match up" anything. The film is so thin is is extremely hard to manage larger pieces - part of that also ties into the release of the film almost instantly once placed in the water. NOTE: One review said it takes longer than the 45 - 60 seconds the instructions suggest once coated with the clear coat but if you only do the 1 -3 coats there is not way it takes longer than 30 seconds, let alone 60.

I am considering trying ink jet printable vinyl next project to see if it is more manageable.

This is the second type of decal paper I've tried. I absolutely love it, it gets the job done. If anything the only thing different from the other paper is you have to leave in water a few seconds longer.I would recommend this product.

Great product (Read and Follow Instructions) May 28, 2015

Timely delivery; appreciated the doc protector & rigid packing of the papers in the trial pack. For those first time who may not be familiar with how model decals work, OR inkjet users, a couple of hints.

1. Read the directions - twice. They work.
2. If using an inkjet - and you followed directions to protect the image with an acrylic spray FIRST - be aware that the time the decal needs to be in water is longer than the general amount in the instructions. That's OK, but you should be patient. The key is to wait until the decal easily slides from the paper with some control.
3. When handling during application after soaking, it will really help you if you dampen your fingertips in the water so that you don't inadvertently tear something or get a wrinkle.

Good stuff & I'll be getting regular pack to keep around for all kinds of things. In this case it was for creating labels on a guitar effects pedal.

If you are looking for a:
- Hi Resolution reproduction
- Glossy beautiful finish
This is it!
I use this on white glazed and smooth porcelain with great results.
Although not recommended by the manufacturer, I also "bake" them in home oven at 250 then 300 then 350 30 min each step with great results. Decal get MUCH stronger and stay beautiful!

Positive reviews must be false.... April 21, 2015

This decal paper fails on so many levels; it basically acts and looks like saran wrap. Even after spraying the image with acrylic the ink fades away to nothing whenst it is immersed in water. The final result is a non-adhesive piece of cling-wrap.

The only plus about this paper is it does print nice clear images; the only way it would work is to glue the decal back on the paper after you immerse it in water. Then you end up with just a printed image on paper, so basically you DO NOT need this paper at all. After paper cost and the exorbitant shipping, you're left with some product
of which you'll probably never use.

I truly care not for leaving negative feedback, however, I feel it is my duty to save others some money and get their labels professionally printed.
